Voluntary effort is required in order to meet all of the challenges facing personal aviation, including the recent announcement of extensive changes to the airspace within 50 miles of Vancouver. COPA Directors Terry Wilshire, Ken Armstrong and member Hardy Staub brought there expertise to these complicated matters in order to find a balance that includes out continued freedom to fly.
I wanted to thank you very much for all your help and advice at the recent Nav Canada meetings in Surrey regarding Vancouver air-space changes. We were completely taken off guard at the initial meeting in Abbotsford. We called COPA and expressed our concerns. They sent out the Cavalry!
We were thankful to Terry and the other two COPA representatives for your voices. You spoke calmly and intelligently in well prepared questions and comments in defense of General Aviation.
We have been COPA members for many years and have read in your newspaper, time and time again, the good work that is done by you and your organization on our behalf.
In this case, we were being directly affected and it was comforting to know that we were not fighting alone.
We hope that all members appreciate the time and hard work that you contribute for the benefit of all.
